Rajasthan, which now means Land of Kings, earlier in the days the state is was believed to be the home of Rajputs. Rajasthan holds a strong history about wars and warriors. Legend has it that, a group of warrior clans, ruled the western India for over 1000 years. But there was no certain unity among members of their own groups which used to end up with unanimous practices several times. But despite of all odds, they fought against foreign invaders.

During the war between Rajput Kingdoms and Muslim enemies, Rajput women used to commit mass-suicide, known as Jauhar. Jauhar was a practice of mass-immolation by females of the kingdom, along with their children and possessions in order to prevent the capture, abuse and rape by the Muslim invaders. The intent of such well-known practice of the entire history was to show honour and respect valued and weighed much higher than the lives of women.

Whereas, the men of the kingdom, used to march to the battlegrounds as part of the ritual and tradition known as Saka.
